I HATE MY JOB!!

Ever have one of those nights??

Everything that could go wrong, did!

It started to snow, so the highway on the way to work was a parking lot. So the whole night started later than usual.

I was in station 9, THE WASTELAND, which is apparently too far away from the hostess podium for the door servers to find it. The few tables that I did get, I had to seat myself.

The tables the hostesses actually did seat me were nothing but teenagers. Did I piss someone off up there? The hostess actually had the nerve to laugh when she told me that one of the other waitress was giving her trouble for the tables she had sat me. Yeah - well, I'm so glad YOU think it is a joke.

Around 7:30, I finally stopped talking to people. There was nothing nice left to say, and all I wanted to do was walk out and never come back. Just leave my tables and sneak out the back door. Some day - on a night like last night, I will sneak out. I wonder how long it would take them to notice...

That's fantastic. One night, when it's past midnight and everybody is buzzed and obnoxious and asking, "Why aren't you smiling?" I'll just get my coat and walk out the door, ne'er to return.

I feel your pain.

I feel your pain... working as a waitress sucks!

I used to work in a restaurant/nightclub...they had a special "Persian"night once a month. The placed was packed with people dancing and socializing...but most of them were MUSLIM! Only about 10% of the crowd drank ALCOHOL! Why the owners thought hiring a DJ and paying 10 waiters for a crowd that only drank water and cranberry juice would make them money I'll never know. There was seriously NOTHING to do other than bring people glasses of water! The other waiter and I spent most of our shift at the bar across the street getting drunk. No one ever missed us!

I just walked out once. I was that fed up. These jobs are a dime a dozen. Find one you like and you will love your job. After 33 years i have found working for an owner operated small joint is much better than the large chain bs. I know how to do my job and the owner trusts me. I run 12 tables with a hostess. I don't need a 24 year old manager looking over my shoulder.
