So last night, I got into an interesting conversation with one of my co workers...
We've both been at the restaurant for WAY TOO many years, so between the two of us, we were able to remember some of the most interesting moments.
Remember when a certain waitress accidentally sat on a tub of grill cleaner that was left out of the closet and got burns on her behind? (Yeah, really toning that down - I know)
I hear she still has scars. She was out for almost two weeks. (Sorry, honey, yes, we laughed...)
Remember when the teenagers set off the fire alarms and we all had to go outside and wait in the rain for over an hour while they cleared the building?
Yep we were busy that night! And we still had to go back in to clean up the messes on the table. Too bad no one had to pay...or tip...
Remember when the power went out, and I was waiting on a party of 10 that would certainly have left a sweet tip - if I could have served them food?
Yes I do - and remember cleaning up the mess in the galley after waiting over 2 hours for the power to come on?
Remember when we got the alarm for the take out people to "wear" to the cars?
Remember how many times the restaurant lit up and the alarm rang through the dining room before they took it away???
Remember when Woburn had ecoli in their drinking water, and we caught people brushing their teeth in the bathroom?
And scrubbing their armpits?
Remember when a certain bartender chased a customer out the door because he left a crappy tip?
Yep - she got fired...
Remember when a certain waitress chased a customer out into the parking lot because they didn't pay? Then proceeded to scream at them even though the customer was twice her size?
I miss her...
There are a million more... and I'm sure we all have some...

good
just wanted to drop my kudos for your work... I've been a big fan for a hot minute now. Actually, after I started reading yours, I looked into how easy it is to start one of these things and you inspired me to start my own blog, *kind* of along the same lines, but my caters more so to the bonkers stories and characters I've come across bar tending in Tampa for the last 7 years. I'd *love* if you could check it out someday.

It's a work in progress, granted I have NO freakin' idea what I'm doing. Like I said, maybe in a week or so (once I get a couple more solid posts up), you could drop by and give me any pointers on the layout and whatnot? I would really really appreciate any advice you could potentially throw my way.
you dont by chance work for the 99 do you??? ive worked there for 4 years and just some things in your posts look very familiar.... and by the way i am a huge fan of your blog!! its amazing! keep 'em coming!
Some of my favorites:
--The air conditioning went out in July - about 85 degrees in the restaurant. Of course we didn't tell the guests until they were already seated. People were either getting up after five minutes or sweating their a***s off through the entire meal. The servers were allowed to have the top button of our uniform undone(!)
--Entire computer system crashed (kitchen, host stand, server's POS's) with 2 hours to go on a Saturday night. Of course we didn't stop seating. Did EVERYTHING on paper. Keep in mind there were about 200 guests in the building.
--Heart attack in the lobby, guy leaves with the ambulance and then comes back to eat.
--Fight at a table, guest throws a plate and shatters one of our windows.
--Drunken member of a bachlorette party sneaks into men's room, gooses guy at the urinal.
--Drunken 16-year-old barely makes it up the escalator (prom season), doesn't quite make it to the bathroom in time.
--Sprinklers go off, drench everybody. Guests included.

I wish this blog was kept up - lots of funny stuff on it.
Love the blog! I am working on one of my own at the moment.... Do you still write your stories- looks like it's been awhile since you've updated.
I love those remember when moments. I worked at Italian Restaurant and some of the patrons would get a little wild. One Night, our regular nut job decided to change the CD to his belly dancing music and started taking his clothes off. Nothing sexier than an out of shape 60+ with energy to burn. Most people were laughing but others were shocked. I took out my camera phone and starting snapping. In case he didn't remember the next day :)
Saw your blog on the What Would You Do tv show. Scrolled through it and I love it!
Hahahahahah! Funny and interesting blog!
Jobs In South Africa
ecoli is the least of Woburn's problems as far as drinking water is concerned... they are actually sitting on top of a rather infamous super-fund toxic waste site with some nice leukemia clusters.
haha just had to add that fun fact
After years of going back and forth between waitressing jobs, I finally lost the passwords to this blog... But I haven't given up! Or lost my absolute desire to share the JOYS of the restaurant world!!
Join me on the blog I CAN access and will be updating (hopefully!!) far more frequently in the near future!!
It's great to be back... I really need to vent! Waitress4Life
