One of the waitresses I work with is slightly ditzy.
That may be a severe understatement, but I like her a lot because she keeps me laughing. At this point, I know her well enough to point out all her little quirks - and laugh at them with her.
Here are a few of the questions she has asked me since I've known her:
Do we put ice in the iced coffee?
~I told her no.
Are we out of water?
~Only one of the faucets is broken, honey.
How do I order a FROZEN mudslide?
~Press the button that says frozen mudslide...
What is on the Bacon Cheese Burger?
~Bacon & Cheese
Sometimes I wonder how she makes it to work every day...

Sounds like hostess material to me.
I have so many things to contribute to this post...I don't even know where to start.
This is too funny. It's almost as if my brain is in the weeds. Just give me a sec, k?
Here's one we used to use on the newbies at Applebees (I never fell for it, I've worked in rest. too long)....
Hey *new server* - part of your sidework is you have to empty out the water from the coffee machine... (you know, the one with the red "hot water" tap that is a direct run, not connected to a reserve tank).
Funny that most of them (high school girls) would spend an hour or more filling and emptying pitchers/buckets before they realized they'd been had....
haha, these sounds like questions i would ask...
I have my dizzy moments like that lol
we have a hostess version of her!
some of my recent favorites:
* why didnt God mention the dinosaurs in the Bible???
* I cannot BELIEVE my insurance doesn't cover the spa!!
Sounds like a hostess to me too. I once saw one brush her hair in the dining room. Jaw dropping. I asked her to do that in the ladies room. Brainless.
After years of going back and forth between waitressing jobs, I finally lost the passwords to this blog... But I haven't given up! Or lost my absolute desire to share the JOYS of the restaurant world!!
Join me on the blog I CAN access and will be updating (hopefully!!) far more frequently in the near future!!
It's great to be back... I really need to vent! Waitress4Life
